Fan Demand: Letting Fans Decide What’s Actually Finger Lickin’ Good

When exploring fan culture around KFC Australia, one voice stood out:

“Bring back Krushers.”

For three straight years, one passionate fan consistently commented this phrase on nearly every KFC social media post. Even other users begged him to stop, but he persisted.

This relentless dedication sparked something much bigger.

Insight:

Fans today expect more than content, they expect conversation. They’re not waiting politely for change - they’re demanding to be heard. Platforms like TikTok and Reddit have taught people that if you’re loud enough, long enough, brands have to respond.

This isn’t just about Krusher Guy. It’s about a cultural shift: fans using comment sections as protest signs.

Modern fandom is about participation, not passivity. Brands that listen (really listen) become part of the culture, not just content in it.

I wanted to create a campaign true to We Are Social's culture-first ethos. When I saw they'd just won KFC Australia, I dove deep into fan behavior across Reddit, TikTok, X, and Instagram.
